Space Marines Should Swear – Aliens vs Avatar

December 11th, 2009

The site is not really up and running yet, but I have to get something off my chest…(i.e. I’m going to start ranting…)

I hate PG-13.

War is a bloody, profanity laced mess. Why would It be any different in space, or a far off planet?

Aliens is my favorite movie of all time.  The marines were realistic, gritty, battle worn and when confronted by razor toothed aliens with acid for blood, they swore.  That’s what you SHOULD do, that’s what ANYONE would do.  A verbal “nuke the site from orbit” if you would.

Which brings me to Avatar (which I have not seen yet) With swarms of blue aliens attacking, PG-13 means we’ll maybe get a single mumbled f-bomb. (often added to get out of PG rating..) Then lots of yelling, some “whoops”, maybe a “splash one bogie”..basically Top Gun speak.  So, even though the soldiers are human, they will talk and act like no other human has in war….

Ever…

Blah…

Unfortunately, I’m part of the problem.  I’ll be there opening weekend.

S. Darko Movie Promo T-Shirt

December 3rd, 2009

It’s a promo T-shirt from the Spring 2009 DVD released of S. Darko , sequel to cult hit Donnie Darko.

Sadly, I was not smart and/ or cool enough to understand what the hell was going on in Donnie Darko, so I passed on seeing S. Darko.
